Nicola Clark
Nicola is a senior lawyer based in the Manchester and London offices of the EU, Competition, Trade & Regulatory practice. Nicola worked at the European Commission (DG Internal Market) before qualifying at Slaughter and May in 2002. Nicola subsequently worked for 3 years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, where she specialised in antitrust. Her experience includes advising major UK companies on cartel investigations by the EC and OFT (including participating in dawn raids and subsequent leniency applications), as well as undertaking merger filings before the European Commission and UK competition authorities. She has extensively advised UK corporates on the competition aspects of commercial transactions and has designed and implemented competition law compliance programmes. She spent seven months with the in-house legal team of a major payment system before joining Hammonds in October 2007 and recently spent four months on secondment to T-Mobile/Orange. She has particular expertise in the chemicals sector and advises extensively on the competition law implications of REACH. She speaks English, French and German.
