Muthu Raman holds a master’s degree in financial economics from the Madras School of Economics, Anna University, and a post graduate diploma specialising in export and import management from Loyola College, Chennai. His expertise as an economist at Nathan includes handling large datasets, conducting quantitative analysis, assessing impact, and competition law matters.Muthu Raman has conducted analysis for leading law firms in India on various competition law cases relating to abuse of dominance, anti-competitive agreements, and mergers and acquisitions in industries such as cement, steel, automobiles, tyres, entertainment, petroleum products, aviation and apparel. He is also experienced in conducting impact assessment of water and sanitation programme in India and food aid in Zimbabwe. He has also worked for the Ministries of Corporate Affairs and Civil Aviation, Government of India, involving analysis regulations to identify factors impeding competition in India’s civil aviation sector.
