Qualified in 2002, Anum currently works for Eversheds Riyadh office as a senior associate. Anum was previously the managing partner in Saleem & Shiraz (Advocates and Legal Counsels). Prior to that, Anum headed the legal and corporate affairs department of an investment bank and acted as general counsel to a companies’ conglomerate operating in the brokerage, hospitality and power sector. Having completed a postgraduate degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, and a master’s degree in economics, Anum specialises in both contentious and non-contentious competition law issues, franchising, mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions. An accredited mediator of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, UK, Anum was also appointed as a national consultant to the International Trade Centre (ITC) on various occasions and jointly authored a report published by the ITC, Geneva. Anum taught business law at Lahore University of Management Sciences for seven years, publishes regularly on legal issues and participates in panel discussions and radio interviews both locally and regionally. Anum’s comments have appeared in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Lawyer and The National, on various regulatory issues.
