Mohamed Samy is a senior associate at Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy in the arbitration team. Mohamed has more than seven years of experience in international commercial and investment arbitration and competition law. Mohamed handles international and domestic arbitration cases under various rules, including the International Chamber of Commerce, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, Dubai International Financial Centre and UNCITRAL, in relation to disputes involving construction, oil and gas, mergers and acquisitions, distribution, telecommunications, international investment, private equity, hotel management and competition law. Mohamed also works on enforcement proceedings of domestic and foreign arbitral awards before Egyptian courts. He handles competition law matters and disputes, including merger control cases, investigations and competition litigation, related to various sectors.

Mohamed obtained his LLB from the faculty of law, English section, Cairo University, with distinction first-class honours. He obtained an LLM from Cairo University and an LLM from Cambridge University. He is currently preparing his PhD at Queen Mary University of London.

Mohamed is currently a teaching assistant of public finance and economic legislation at Cairo University.
