Mette Berghen

Mette is a manager at Frontier Economics specialising in the area of competition policy. She has over 10 years' experience of working as an economic consultant in this area. She handles competition cases across Frontier's Brussels, London and Cologne offices, advising clients on merger cases, cartel cases, litigation cases and the assessment of abusive conduct. She has worked on a large number of competition cases before the European Commission, national competition authorities and courts spanning a wide range of industries. As a German national, she has particular experience of advising on competition matters in Germany before the German Federal Cartel Office and the German courts. Prior to joining Frontier, Mette worked as a senior associate with RBB Economics for three years and, prior to that, Mette was a consultant in the European Competition Policy Practice of National Economic Research Associates (NERA). She helped establish NERA's Brussels office in 2000, RBB's Brussels office in 2002, and is now developing Frontier's Brussels office. Mette received a Vordiplom in Economics from the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn (Germany) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Economics and a Masters' degree in Economics, both with distinction, from Birkbeck College in London, where she specialised in econometric analysis.
