Mat Hughes is a managing director in AlixPartners’ European competition practice, which is part of a broader litigation practice. He has some 25 years of experience as an antitrust economist and in dealing with competition authorities and specialist utility regulators in relation to all aspects of competition law. Mat started his career as an economist at the UK Office of Fair Trading, and until March 2013 was chief economist at Ashurst LLP. Mat’s experience includes a large number of cases covering competition economics matters, including market investigation, mergers and damages estimation. Mat is currently acting as an independent expert in relation to damages claims relating to Polyurethane Foam, Bearings and Wire Harnesses.
