Martyn Huckerby is a partner and chief representative of the Shanghai office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques. He also heads the China antitrust practice of Mallesons. Martyn has extensive experience in providing competition law, regulatory or commercial advice to firms throughout China, Australia, Europe and south-east Asia.Martyn has particular expertise in obtaining merger clearances in China in relation to large international transactions, including InBev’s acquisition of Anheuser-Busch and Kraft’s acquisition of the biscuit and cereal business of Danone. Martyn’s international merger control experience includes obtaining antitrust approvals for GE and Credit Suisse in relation to the establishment of Global Infrastructure Partners, advising eBay on its acquisition of Skype, advising Telefonica on its acquisition of O2, and advising Bank of America on its acquisition of MBNA.Martyn has also delivered antitrust compliance training to a variety of multinational organisations across Asia. He regularly speaks at public conferences and seminars on Chinese regulatory issues and is also the author of various published articles on competition law and regulatory issues in China.In addition to being named in Band 1 for competition/antitrust (China) by Chambers Asia 2011 and as a leading lawyer by PLC Which lawyer? 2010, Martyn is listed as a leading lawyer for China M&A by IFLR.
