María Carolina Pardo Cuéllar

For more than 20 years, Mrs Pardo has coordinated and prepared submissions on behalf of Colombian and multinational clients in connection with contentious and administrative procedures, premerger filings and investigations related to competition, IT, data protection and consumer matters.She has also coordinated initiatives before Colombian authorities from industry group members and has been part of a list of experts assisting the Colombian authority in the design of a new leniency policy in competition matters. Mrs Pardo has spoken at national and international events related to competition, privacy and data protection regulations. She has also lectured on competition law in undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Universidad de los Andes and Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario. Mrs Pardo devotes most of her time to assisting clients in implementing sound and pragmatic procedures to comply with the applicable regulations on competition, data protection, consumer regulation and compliance matters in general.She joined Baker & McKenzie in 1994. Carolina is a partner of Baker & McKenzie in Colombia and leads the IT, competition and compliance groups in the local firm. She is part of the steering committee of the Latin American competition, compliance and IT groups of Baker & McKenzie.Carolina provides legal assistance to major local and multinational companies in Colombia and coordinating regional initiatives in competition, IT, compliance and consumer protection matters. She also has expertise in contractual structuring and representing clients in administrative contentious matters in these areas.
