Margarida Matos Rosa is the president of the Portuguese Competition Authority, having taken office in November 2016. Ms Matos Rosa was previously with the Portuguese Securities Market Commission, focusing on systemic risk, investment management and international securities regulation. Her professional experience in the financial sector also includes positions at BNP Paribas and UBS Bank. As a Fulbright scholar, Ms Matos Rosa carried out research in public policy in the venture capital industry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ms Matos Rosa holds an undergraduate degree in economics (magna cum laude) from the Catholic University of Leuven and a masters in public affairs from Princeton University.
