Margaret Wang
Margaret is a counsel and a member of the Asia antitrust group. Margaret trained at Freshfields’ London office where she practised European antitrust law for a number of years, during which time she was seconded to the US antitrust group in Washington, DC.Since her relocation to Hong Kong in 2006, Margaret has advised on all aspects of antitrust law in China and Hong Kong. She regularly advises on the antitrust aspects of cross-border mergers and acquisitions and disputes and she also counsels multinational companies on antitrust risks associated with their business behaviour.Margaret is nominated as a leading international competition lawyer in China by Chambers Asia 2011 and 2012, and most recently, by Chambers Global 2012. She regularly contributes articles on competition law in key publications, including Global Competition Review and Getting the Deal Through.Margaret holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Commerce from the University of Melbourne and an LLM (Dist) in competition law from King’s College, University of London. Margaret is admitted to practise in England and Wales, New South Wales, Australia, New York and Hong Kong. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.
