Andrés joined the Competition, Compliance and Regulated Markets at Galicia Abogados on 2018. His work is mainly focused on competition matters, such as i) analysis and defense of concentrations, during Mexican merger control and investigations processes, before the Federal Economic Competition Commission (“FECC”) and the Federal Institute of Telecommunications and Broadcasting (“FITB”); ii) defense and advice to economic agents involved in investigations performed by the FECC related to potential anticompetitive practices; iii) performance of internal audits related to the, past and future, implementation of internal competition policies; iv) antitrust and competition litigation; v) analysis and advice for M&A transactions, under an economic competition perspective. The rest of his work is focused on the performance of internal audits related to data privacy, anticorruption and anti-money laundry law.
The industries in which he has specialized have been: digital markets, artificial intelligence, digital economy, energy (electricity and oil & gas), pharmaceutical, telecommunications, finance and national and international trade.
Andrés studied law at Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (“CIDE”) and Handelshögskolan, Göteborgs Universitet. He also attended the graduate certificate program offered by CIDE on Privacy, Regulation and Data Governance, and is currently coursing the Data Science professional certification offered by HarvardX.
