Kristian Hugmark is a senior associate in Howrey's Brussels office. His main areas of practice are cartel investigations and antitrust issues relating to transport. Kristian has extensive experience of merger, state aid and antitrust work across a range of sectors such as inter alia, transport, transport infrastructure, electronics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, liberal professions and sport. Since joining Howrey, Kristian's primary area of focus has been in matters concerning transport in the maritime and aviation sectors, cartel investigations and parallel trade of pharmaceuticals. His experience has involved advising leading airlines in Europe and the US on antitrust and merger issues, as well as defending major companies, across various industries, in European and transatlantic multiple product cartel investigations involving the implications of private enforcement and leniency applications. Prior to joining Howrey, Kristian completed an extended traineeship at the European Commission's Directorate General for Competition. Working for transport, distributive trades and other service units, he was involved in cases dealing with mergers and the organisation of sport for major sporting events.
