Keith L Butler is a member of the antitrust group and the firm's litigation and dispute resolution department. An experienced antitrust lawyer and complex commercial litigator, Keith has been representing Fortune 500 companies and top executives for more than a decade.Keith has a particularly strong background in merger clearance and price-fixing matters. In the merger clearance area, he has helped a broad spectrum of clients successfully navigate the merger review process before the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice and the European Commission. In the price-fixing area, he has represented numerous clients in large multi-district price-fixing matters. He also provides all manner of antitrust counselling on a variety of issues, and has experience in other areas of complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution.Keith's clients include large corporations, private equity funds, business executives and others in a wide range of industries, including biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, health care, information technology and the internet, financial services, insurance and reinsurance, private equity, entertainment, textiles, lodging and gaming, real estate, telecommunications, utilities and waste services.Prior to joining Proskauer, Keith practised at Latham & Watkins and Morrison & Foerster. Before that - as a professor of philosophy at various institutions, including Washington University, the College of William & Mary, and others - he was the published author of a book on cognition and dozens of articles in peer-reviewed journals.Keith is also a contributing author to the forthcoming ABA Section of Antitrust Law handbook on interlocking directorates and an editor for the "Relevant Markets" chapter in the sixth edition of Antitrust Law Developments, as well as other law review and business law articles.
