Kim & ChangKaren Alderman is a foreign attorney in the Kim & Chang Antitrust and Competition Practice Group. Before joining Kim & Chang in 2010, she worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, Berlin and Washington, DC, where she specialised in antitrust law.Ms Alderman has extensive experience in a wide range of antitrust issues arising in cross-border transactions and investigations into alleged monopolisations and restraints of trade. She has represented clients in successfully obtaining approvals for mergers and acquisitions and has defended clients in investigations into alleged cartels and monopolisations/abuse of dominance. She has in-depth experience in the chemical, IT, telecom and aviation sectors.Most recently, Ms Alderman contributed the chapter on Korean merger enforcement for the ABA’s forthcoming publication on the Essentials of Merger Review. She also co-authored ‘BRIC in the International Merger Review Edifice’ (2010), which was published in the Cornell International Law Journal. She is admitted to the New York Bar and as a solicitor in England and Wales.
