Juhani Jokinen

Juhani Jokinen, LLM (trained at the bench), was born 1953 in Helsinki. He has been director general at the FCCA since 1 January 2013 (the date on which the Finnish Competition Authority and Finnish Consumer Authority merged into the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority). Prior to this, he was the director general at the Finnish Competition Authority (FCA), a role he held from 1 January 2005. He has worked for the FCA ever since it was established in 1988, and has held executive roles there since since 1993. Prior to this appointment as director general he worked as Head of merger control unit and then head of the monopolies unit. Between 1985 and 1988 he was senior inspector at the Office of the Competition Ombudsman; before this (1981 to 1985) he worked for Finnish Customs.
