Jorge A Sánchez-Dávila is a partner at the Goodrich, Riquelme y Asociados international law firm in Mexico City in the corporate, banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust and regulated sectors areas. He graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho (Law School) in Mexico City and obtained a Masters degree in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick in England. He has also obtained the following postgraduate degrees: International Capital Markets and Loans and International Business Organisations from the IBA - The College of Law; Competition Policy from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México; and Institutions of the European Union and Relations with Mexico from the Diplomatic Academy of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is a PhD candidate from the Panamerican University Law School and a mediator certified by the Mexican National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO), and a Vocal of the Mexican Institute of Mediation. He is co-author of the publication International Business Law, Editorial Porrúa, 2008. His memberships include the IBA, the National Corporate Counsel Association (ANADE) - Mercantile, Telecoms, antitrust and International Law Committees; the Australia-Latin America Business Council and the Commission for Legislative Studies (Consejo Coordinador Empresarial). Since August 2004, he has been chairman of the Australia, New Zealand and Mexico Chamber of Commerce (ACANZMEX) and has participated in three trade missions to Australia and New Zealand. He has also been a guest speaker presenting Mexican law and deregulation and privatisation issues in Mexico, the US, Europe and Australia for several US and international law firms and has written extensively in the areas of international and commercial law and e-commerce.
