James Jamieson is currently an economic adviser at the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). He worked on the CMA’s energy market inquiry, focusing on competition in the generation and wholesale electricity markets. He has since worked on the banking market inquiry, as well as a number of competition and consumer enforcement cases. Prior to joining the CMA, James was an economic adviser at the UK Competition Commission, focusing on the use of MFNs in motor insurance sector. Before this, he was an economic adviser for the department for business innovation and skills, providing advice to the department and ministers on a number of competition issues.
