Jaime Moya Suárez

Jaime Moya Suárez is a senior associate at Brigard & Urrutia Abogados SA. He was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1974 and admitted to practise law in Colombia in 1997.He attended the Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá (JD, Highest Honors, 1997), Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá (Financial Law, 1998, Excellence Diploma) and Harvard University Law School (LLM Concentration in International Finance, 2001, Scholarship Enrique Low Murtra). He specialises in mergers and acquisitions and competition law. Mr Moya has assisted the merger control process of major transactions in Colombia, involving both privately-held and listed companies. These transactions have pertained to a wide range of markets, such as the beer, industrial juices, bottled water, retail, online music, cosmetics and oil and gas industries. He has also participated in important recent developments in competition law in Colombia, such as the controversy with the antitrust authority regarding the mechanism to fix interbank exchange rates in credit card networks and the discussion on proposed amendments to the national antitrust law.Jaime Moya Suárez speaks Spanish and English.
