Jae-Chan Jeong

Jae-Chan Jeong was appointed as a chairman of the Korea Fair Trade Commission on 5 December 2014. He has worked for the KFTC for 22 years and is well versed in the field of competition law. After passing the 21st Senior Government Service Examination, he has consecutively filled various government posts including as director general for the subcontract bureau; director general for the competition bureau; director general for planning and management; head of the business cooperation team; head of the cartel investigation team; head of the KFTC regional office in Seoul; standing commissioner; and vice president. After serving out the years of his vice-presidential term, he served as a professor of economics at Hannam University.He earned his BA in business management from Korea University and completed his master’s degree in economics at the University of Salford.
