Georgios Symeonidis is an associate in King & Spalding’s life sciences practice. He focuses on EU regulatory matters for companies in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, cosmetics and food sectors. In particular, he advises clients on clinical research, compliance, product classification, marketing authorisation, patient/compassionate use programmes, labelling and packaging requirements, and advertising and promotion in the EU. Georgios regularly deals with the European Commission and national competent authorities in the EU.
Prior to joining King & Spalding, Georgios worked in the life sciences practice of another international law firm in Athens and at the Medical Products Directorate of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety. He was involved in the implementation of the EU Clinical Trials Regulation, the application of the EU Transparency Directive, the regulation of advanced therapy medicinal products and the revision of the EU legislation for blood, tissues and cells.
Georgios holds an LLM from the College of Europe in Belgium, as well as a master’s degree in EU health products law from Strasbourg University. Prior to pursuing postgraduate studies, Georgios obtained bachelor’s degrees from the University of Strasbourg and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He is fluent in French and English and he is a native Greek speaker.
