Fabíola Cammarota de Abreu is a partner in the antitrust, compliance and anti-corruption, corporate governance and technology, media and telecoms areas at Souza Cescon. She heads the antitrust practice and has an extensive experience representing domestic and foreign companies, private equity firms and individual clients in connection with merger control matters, violations of the antitrust law, including cartel investigations, and execution of leniency agreements with the Brazilian Antitrust Agency.Ms Cammarota de Abreu earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Law School of Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo in 1996 and her postgraduate degree in comparative law from Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge, England, in 1998. She is currently an MBA candidate at the University of Manchester, England. She was the chairwoman of the legal and tax committee of the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil between 2001 and 2003. Ms Cammarota de Abreu is also a sworn translator by the Board of Trade of the State of São Paulo for the English language since 2000. In 2014, she was made a certified compliance and ethics professional by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics. Since 2015, she has been an arbitrator at the Arbitration Chamber of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (CArb-ABPI) and of the Dispute Resolution Center in Intellectual Property (CSD-PI of ABPI).
