Dimitris Loukas

Dimitris Loukas has been serving as vice chairman of the HCC since March 2012. In this capacity, he adjudicates cases heard before the Grand Chamber and Chambers of the Hellenic Competition Commission pursuant to EU and Greek competition legislation (merger control, cartels and antitrust), while further coordinating the HCC’s strategic policy and representation before the European Commission and other international organisations. He joined the board of the HCC as commissioner rapporteur in September 2009. Prior to this, he served as an official at DG Competition of the European Commission (currently on leave during his term at the HCC). He is an attorney-at-law, admitted to practise in the Athens and New York Bars, with experience in both merger control and antitrust and cartel cases before the European and American competition authorities, as well as before the European courts (CFI and ECJ).Before joining the European Commission, he worked as a practitioner in law firms based in London, Brussels and New York. He is a graduate of Athens Law School and holds a master’s degree (LLM) from Columbia Law School, New York, specialising in commercial and antitrust law.He speaks English, French and Italian.
