Deborah Johns is a partner in Gilbert + Tobin’s leading corporate advisory practice. She is an expert in matters relating to the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975 (Cth) and is a member of the Law Council’s Foreign Investment Committee. Deborah has led Gilbert + Tobin’s participation in the consultation processes in relation to Australia’s foreign investment rules, and has been particularly involved in efforts to improve the way private equity funds are treated under foreign investment legislation. She also handles a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including funds establishment, venture capital transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Deborah also edits the firm’s Doing Business in Australia guide and Foreign Investment Guide.
