David Kent

David Kent is a partner in the litigation and competition groups of McMillan LLP and chairs the firm’s class action practice. David’s practice emphasises complex litigation including competition, IP, commercial and regulatory disputes. He has been lead counsel for defendants in numerous major national cartel cases including those involving graphite electrodes, vitamins, auction houses, travel agents, copper, linerboard, polyester staple, EPDM/rubber chemicals and computer components (DRAM, SRAM, flash memory and LCD flat panels). David speaks and writes on issues including competition law, class actions and the intersection of competition and IP law. He taught alternate dispute resolution at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and Queens University Law School in Kingston for nine years
