Dae Lae Noh

Dae-lae Noh was appointed as a chairman of the Korea Fair Trade Commission on 21 April 2013. He has extensive economic policy experience. Prior to his appointment to the KFTC, he was the commissioner of the Defence Acquisition Program Administration and the administrator of the Public Procurement Service, and also accumulated considerable experience as an economic policymaker working for the planning and finance ministry. His policy coordination capacity was widely recognised during his work as an assistant secretary of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and a director general for policy coordination bureau. He also has vast experience in competition law and, having been involved in policy coordination, has long been familiar with the KFTC’s work. In particular, while working at the KFTC, he has helped to lay the foundations for the competition law system in Korea. He earned his BA in law from the Seoul National University, at whose Graduate School of Public Administration he also earned a master’s degree. In addition, he completed his doctorate in finance and economics at the University of Cologne.
