Crisanto Pérez-Abad is a senior associate in the Madrid office of Garrigues. He joined the firm's EU and competition law practice group in January 2005. Previously he worked in an international law firm in Brussels for five years and subsequently in a national EU and competition law boutique firm in Madrid.He obtained his law degree from the University of Oviedo in 1994 and subsequently specialised in EU and competition law at the Carlos III University of Madrid (1997) and the University of Amsterdam (1998). In 1998, he served as a trainee at the European Court of Justice in the Chambers of the Advocate General Ruiz-Jarabo.As a visiting lecturer he has taught for the LLM in EU Law at the University Carlos III of Madrid since 1999, the LLM on International Legal Advising at the S Pablo CEU University and the EU and Spanish competition law course organised by the Instituto de Estudios BursÁtiles. Mr Pérez-Abad has also published on various aspects of EC competition and contributed to specialised books such as EC Competition Procedure, ed Luis Ortiz Blanco (2nd edition, Oxford University Press, 2006).He speaks Spanish (native), English and French.
