Christoph Riechmann is a director in the energy practice of Frontier Economics and also heads Frontier's Cologne office. Christoph provides regulation, competition, valuation and strategy advice to clients in north-west Europe. Christoph has over 13 years of consulting experience with particular focus on the energy sector, where he has advised a number of major European energy companies (E.ON, EnBW, RWE, Suez, Vattenfall, Verbund, etc), industry associations such as the German Electricity Association (VDEW) and a variety of public offices, including the German, Austrian and Dutch energy regulators (BNetzA, E-Control and DTe, respectively), the European Commission, the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Bundestag. This included projects both with a commercial and a public policy focus. He has also provided competition and regulation advice in sectors such as chemical, consumer durables, furniture, facility management, post, telecoms, textile and transport.Christoph has also been lecturing on the European Utility Management MBA course at Jacobs University, Bremen since 2005.Before joining Frontier in 1999, Christoph Riechmann worked at the Institute of Energy Economics where he was involved in consultancy and research on reforms and restructuring in network industries. In this work he has significantly contributed to the German debate on electricity price regulation and network access regimes for electricity and gas. He is the author of numerous publications on these issues. Christoph holds a PhD in Economics from Cologne University.
