Catalin Suliman is a bachelor of law, a graduate of the University of Bucharest and a member of the Bucharest Bar. He also holds a master’s degree in business law, with a graduation paper focused on competition issues related to distribution agreements. Catalin has more than seven years’ experience in the field of competition consultancy, including more than five at D&B David si Baias, the corresponding law firm of PwC in Romania, where he is currently managing associate in charge of coordinating complex competition assignments. Catalin also teaches competition seminars at the business law masters at the Law Faculty.His expertise covers competition, state aid, intellectual property and pharmaceutical regulation. He has a track record providing assistance with antitrust issues facing clients in a variety of industries, such as oil and gas, retail, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and telecoms.Catalin’s focus is on assessing antitrust implications arising both in the normal course of a client’s business and in relation to complicated transactions. In addition, Catalin has expertise in interfacing and liaising with the Competition Council during its various procedures. Catalin has assisted numerous clients during investigations performed by the Competition Council at all stages, including during dawn raids, hearings and direct meetings with competition inspectors and so on.
