Carlos Orci earned his law degree from the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City in 2006, with special mention for his thesis, ‘Franchise Agreements in Competition Law.’ He has also taken graduate studies at the Escuela Libre de Derecho and has been a lecturer at the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económica (CIDE). He has taken part, as a speaker, at Mexico’s City Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and at the first international round table ‘Antitrust Marathon,’ organised by the Institute for Consumer Antitrust Studies of Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois.Mr Orci is member of the board of the Mexican Bar Association, the Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa AC, the international advisory board of the Institute for Consumer Antitrust Studies at Loyola University, Chicago, and the antitrust, competition and trade practice group of Lex Mundi.Mr Orci has been an associate at Basham, Ringe y Correa SC since December 2006. He has focused his practice on antitrust law, commercial and corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. Currently, Mr Orci is studying for a Masters of Law degree in competition law at King’s College London, University of London.
