Anshuman’s professional career spans over 12 years. He is a partner and advises clients on the entire spectrum of competition law issues, including merger control, abuse of dominance and cartel enforcement. He also advises on compliance aspects related to the enforcement provisions of Indian competition law, and has conducted mock dawn raids and competition audits. He has also been involved in the drafting and filing of several leniency applications with the Competition Commission of India (CCI).

Over the years, Anshuman has assisted in obtaining approvals for several marquee transactions, including Sun Pharma/Ranbaxy (the first Phase II investigation in India that led to structural modifications), Orchid/Hospira (the first matter in which parties made modifications to the terms of their agreement to secure the approval of the CCI), Grasim/ Aditya Birla Chemicals and ZF Friedrichshafen/TRW Automotive.

In the past year, Anshuman has also advised clients on compliance with the enforcement aspects of Indian competition law in various sectors such as cement, fast-moving consumer goods, shipping, ports and automotive.

Anshuman Sakle has been ranked as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ by The Legal 500 (2021– 2018), a ‘Distinguished Practitioner’ by AsiaLaw (2021–2019) and a ‘Rising Star Lawyer’ for AsiaLaw Profile 2018.
