Anna Wu was appointed chairperson of the Competition Commission in May 2013 for a three-year term. Ms Wu qualified as a lawyer after graduating from the University of Hong Kong with a law degree. She is currently a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong, chairperson of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, and a member of the International Advisory Board of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.Ms Wu previously served as a member of the Legislative Council and as the chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption and the Consumer Council, where she was extensively involved in the research and formulation of Hong Kong’s embryonic competition policy and blueprints for the eventual Competition Ordinance. Ms Wu has also been a member of the Law Reform Commission and the Hospital Authority, a director of the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited and a non-executive director of the Securities and Futures Commission.
