Andreas Haak

Andreas Haak provides advice in all aspects of EU, public procurement, state aid and trade (anti-dumping/WTO) law. He has advised on numerous privatisation and PPP projects across Germany and Europe and deals with cases relating to EU law on a regular basis. His work includes representing clients’ interests before national and European courts, the European Commission and procurement review bodies. He has extensive experience in advising national and international prominent clients from the private and public sector.Andreas studied Law and Business Administration. His further legal training included working for an international law firm in Düsseldorf and Brussels and a European institution in Brussels and Straßburg. Andreas Haak was former legal adviser to the European Parliament, and was in particular responsible for drafting legislation in the field of corporate and public procurement law. He became a partner at Taylor Wessing in October 2003. Andreas Haak is a member of the European Committee and the Committee of European Contract Law of the German Federal Bar and an Advisory Board member of the European Doctorate for Law and Economy programme. Since 2004 he has been national expert to the European Commission on European contract law (CFR-Net). He is author in a well-known commentary on German public procurement law and published numerous articles in legal journals. He is a commentator on general EU, trade, state aid and procurement law in the German press and lectures on various subjects of EU, public state aid and trade law at the University of Cologne.
