Alastair Mordaunt

Partner and Co-head, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer

Alastair Mordaunt is a Hong Kong-based partner and co-head of Freshfields Asia antitrust, competition and trade practice. He has more than 15 years of regulator and private practice experience acting on both investigations and merger reviews, including four years at the UK’s Office of Fair Trading. Alastair’s practice covers competition-related work across Hong Kong, mainland China and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region. He has previously worked in the Freshfields offices in London, Brussels and Washington, DC.

Alastair’s extensive experience at the regulator and as a private practitioner across three continents gives him a deep understanding of working effectively with regulators and devising successful strategies for his clients in the context of transactional and investigatory work. Alastair is currently a non-governmental adviser to the Hong Kong Competition Commission.
