Marco Plankensteiner is a partner in the competition law department in the Paris office. He handles the full range of antitrust, distribution and consumer protection matters.
He defends French and international companies in litigation proceedings before the French and European competition authorities, and in their commercial litigation before the French courts.
He advises his clients in trade agreements on issues of horizontal or vertical cooperation in distribution law and issues related to advertising and consumer protection, and assists them in merger control and pre-merger filings with EU and national competition authorities on a national and community level.
He has specific expertise with regards to antitrust issues related to financial institutions, including payment schemes and interbank fees, as well as to construction companies, in connection with industrial cooperation agreements. He teaches competition law at the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), and is member of the AFEC, the French Association for the Study of Competition Marco speaks French, English, German and Italian. He is admitted to the Paris and Milan Bars.
