Papua New Guinea seeks to block four-to-three bank merger

Papua New Guinea’s antitrust watchdog has provisionally blocked the proposed sale of Westpac’s domestic banking business to Kina Securities, citing concerns that the deal would reduce the number of commercial banks operating in the country from four to three.
