Mofcom official emphasises economics in merger review
In one of his first speeches outside China, the director general of the Antimonopoly Bureau at China’s Ministry of Commerce today said he is focused on increasing its economic sophistication both of staff and through the use of external consultants, and urged those with concerns about mergers to bring economic arguments to the antitrust agency.
