Make leniency great again: The Asia-Pacific Tipline for 17 April 2020
One practitioner has dubbed a revision to Hong Kong’s leniency policy an attempt to “make leniency great again”. The key changes come after more than four years of enforcing Hong Kong’s Competition Ordinance and bring the regime more in line with several foreign jurisdictions. The changes also come amid conversations in recent years about a global slowdown in leniency, which some attribute to an increase in disincentives, such as the rise of follow-on litigation outside the US.
