Germany partially clears Edeka acquisitions with retail space remedy

Germany's Federal Cartel Office has conditionally permitted the country's largest food retailer Edeka to purchase 51 stores from a rival but blocked its acquisition of 21 stores over concerns that it would become "too powerful" in certain regional markets.
