Ecuador hits Odebrecht with first antitrust fine for bribing officials to win tenders

Ecuador’s antitrust watchdog has fined Odebrecht and a state-owned electricity distributor a combined €55 million after the former bribed government officials to ensure it won tenders for construction and repair work, marking the first time the agency has punished a contractor and a contractee for bid-rigging.
