DG Comp approves Air Berlin deals

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition last month cleared Lufthansa and easyJet’s bids to take over parts of bankrupt carrier Air Berlin and approved an unrelated merger between two aerospace companies, but launched an investigation into Tronox’s proposed takeover of titanium dioxide manufacturer Cristal as the companies face a US lawsuit against the deal.
