Cellcom/Golan appeal merger block in Israel

Israel’s largest mobile network operator Cellcom and rival Golan Telecom each independently appealed against the local competition enforcer’s rejection of their controversial merger this week, challenging the authority’s concerns that the tie-up would usher the return of a “telecoms oligopoly”.
