Canadian court gives preliminary approval to anti-steering settlements

A Quebec court has authorised merchants’ class action settlements with Visa, Mastercard and the National Bank of Canada for the companies’ allegedly anticompetitive rules barring retailers from steering customers to use other forms of payment.
