Belgian court rejects Carrefour’s challenge to supermarket takeover

Carrefour has lost its appeal against the unconditional approval of a tie-up between two rival supermarket chains, after a Belgian court ruled that third parties can intervene to assist the national enforcer but not for their own private interests in order to stifle transactions.
