Simen Karlsen is an expert in competition economics and electronic communications.
He is a managing economist at Copenhagen Economics, where he has worked for the last eight years. He is the service leader of Copenhagen Economics’ competition and dispute support section. He is an experienced project leader on competition and telecoms projects related to antitrust cases, mergers and sector specific regulation. He has been expert witness before both Norwegian and Danish courts in competition and damage claims cases.
Previously, Simen worked for seven years at the Norwegian Competition Authority and the EFTA Surveillance Authority. He earned his master’s degree in economics from the University of Bergen in 2000. Based on his 15 years of competition and regulatory experience, he has acquired an in-depth understanding of what drives authorities’ and politicians’ decision-making.
