Simen Karlsen

Copenhagen Economics

Simen Karlsen is an expert in competition economics and electronic communications.

He is a managing economist at Copenhagen Economics, where he has worked for the last six years, and the service leader of Copenhagen Economics’ competition section. He is an experienced project leader on competition and telecoms projects, related to antitrust cases, mergers and sector specific regulation.

Previously, Simen worked for seven years at the Norwegian Competition Authority and the EFTA Surveillance Authority. Simen Karlsen earned his Master’s degree in economics from the University of Bergen in 2000. Based on his 13 years’ competition and regulatory experience, he has acquired an in-depth understanding of what drives authorities’ and politicians’ decision making.
