Marc Lévy

SJ Berwin

Marc Lévy has headed the EU, competition and regulatory department of the Paris office of SJ Berwin since his arrival in 2003.

Marc represents domestic and international groups before the EU and French competition authorities and courts with respect to cartels and abuse of market dominance. He also specialises in French and cross-border merger control regulations. As head of the commercial litigation group in Paris, Marc advises clients on unfair trade practices, consumer protection and contractual disputes. He is particularly active in the IT and pharmaceutical industries, in both contentious and non contentious matters.

Prior to joining SJ Berwin, he was head of the antitrust and commercial law practice at Archibald from 1996. Prior to his time at Archibald, he was an associate at Salès Vincent Georges, during which time he was seconded for one year as legal affairs director to Microsoft France. From 1990 to 1992 he was a staff attorney at Air Liquide in Houston, Texas, USA.

He also teaches French and EU Competition and Distribution Law in the European Business Law Master’s degree at the Paris V Descartes University. He regularly contributes articles to trade journals. In particular, he authored a substantial competition and distribution law chapter in the new edition of the Lamy on Life Sciences.

Marc is bilingual in English and French. He has been a member of the Paris Bar since 1993.
