Since 2007, Theodor Thanner has served as director general for competition and head of the Austrian FCA. It is his second term. He is a graduate of the law faculty of the University of Salzburg, Austria (juris doctor 1982).
He has held numerous senior legal positions in federal public administration, including head of legal for the Ministry of Interior, member of the Federal Authority for Public Procurement, and head of the cabinet of the Minister of Public Administration and the Minister of the Interior.
