Joaquín García Bernaldo de Quirós

Mr García was appointed chairman of the CNC in October 2011. He has a law degree from Granada University (1984). In 1988, Mr Garcia started his career as a judge. He obtained a specialisation in Judicial Review in 1990 after working as a judge in La Laguna (Tenerife). From 2001 to 2011, he served as president of the Judicial Review Division of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia. He has authored numerous publications in administrative law, government, procurement and EU Law. He has participated in numerous international and national forums in these fields. He has been a member of the IT committee of the General Council of the Judiciary since 2004 and a member of the Joint Commission of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia and the Regional Government of this Autonomous Community on the Standardization of Procedures and IT application since 1999. He has also been an associate professor in administrative law at the University of La Laguna.
