Valentin Pepeljugoski graduated from the Faculty of Law Justinianus Primus Skopje, Saints Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje in 1985 and passed the bar exam in 1987. Valentin Pepeljugoski received his PhD in 2003 on the topic: ‘Protection of industrial property rights against unfair competition’. Between July 1993 and October 1999, he worked as deputy minister and assistant director in the State intellectual property office. He has been practising law since 1999, with closer expertise in the field of intellectual property and competition law. Between February 2005 and December 2006, he was a member of the Commission for the Protection of Competition of the Republic of Macedonia.

In 2005, he was elected as a professor in the following areas of law: intellectual property, information technology law, law of the European Union, patent law, competition law. He has taken part as a lecturer and participant in many seminars, conferences and symposiums, including, but not limited to: the Hague Academy of International Law; the European Patent Office Academy (seminars concerning copyright, patent, trademarks and management for line managers); World Intellectual Property Organization meetings, diplomatic conferences, standing committees and committees of experts from 1993 to 1999; and TEMPUS Common European Projects: EU industrial property law – Institution building and copyright and neighbouring rights – Towards EU Standards.

Valentin Pepeljugoski is also author and co-author of over 30 publications and six university text books: Intellectual property I, Industrial Property 2004, Copyright 2006, Industrial Property 2008, Protection of Competition 2009, Patents 2011 and Intellectual property 2012.
