Half billion-dollar fine for AUO in LCD cartel sentence

After seeking a record-breaking US$1 billion penalty against AU Optronics (AUO) for criminal cartel activity, the US Department of Justice’s antitrust division yesterday announced the company has been fined US$500 million, the equal highest fine in US antitrust history.
